Trail Signs: Gone, But Not Forgotton

This last year has been quite an exciting experience for us here at The Wood’s Edge. As with all growth, comes growing pains, increased strength and change. We’ve learned along the way in this first year and we also feel that we have found and gained some balance. We will continue to confidently step along  and strive for productive results of providing our readers and followers with outdoor inspirational experiences and high quality, wholesome products and services.

We want to thank all of our readers, subscribers, followers and partners for their contributions and interest. It is with this much needed support of how we are able to continue to provide the experiences at The Wood’s Edge.

Below we’ve included the excerpt from our “About” page and hope that you will take the time to read it. We want everyone to understand what TWE is about and hope that they will get the real “twe” experience…

Now that a new year is upon us, we musn’t forget the past. We must remember our past steps and experiences because the past is what forms our future. And,,, sometimes these past experiences are very special and meaningful to us, as you can read in Martin James Wood’s latest piece, “The Camp”. Martin James reminisces of a place that was a special part of his past. There were and still are a lot of these camps in the woods and hills of Pennsylvania. Fewer today though. There were a lot of these along the whole Appalachian, Allegheny, Adirondack, Blue Ridge and Smoky mountain ranges.

Times change, but we must remember to protect and respect our precious forests and mountains. They are here for us to live amongst and use. Saving and protecting these, will allow continued traditions and the creation of new experiences for our children. We must not forget the past to know what it is we want to save, protect and create for the future. We need to listen to the “ole’ timers” so that we know of what it is that we want to save, protect and create… Just because the past is behind us and gone,,, doesn’t mean it should be forgotten…

  • In December we published a piece by Martin James Wood , “The Camp”, reminiscing of times past, as mentioned above._________________________________________

Our founder, Martin James Wood, is committed to The Wood’s Edge having its core focus on the natural world and wholesome quality. After all, nature and wholesome go together, right?,,, “Yep”, We knew you’d say that, to… We also agree and know it doesn’t get any better than that,,, right?… Ok, enough with the corny back and forth…

(the sound of throat clearing) We want you and everyone to know, when we say TWE, #twe or make a sound of twe,,, we are talking about, as shown in the image below which we’ve used on our twitter:

True inspiration from nature, love and peace, high-up mountains, unspoiled rivers, tall pines swaying, hidden valleys, primitive ocean beaches, the sound of an evening’s whippoorwill and a morning’s bubbling mountain brook…

“WHOAA!!! How cool is that! One little acronym can mean all that?” You might be thinking, in a gnarly kinda way…

Oh,,, and yeah,,, it also means,,, high quality, integrity, honesty and WHOLESOME!!!

“WHEW… That’s a lot”,,, you might say…  And your right.

You might also say, in a genuinely perplexed kinda way, while scratching your head, “how can they fit all of that into three letters, like that?”

Well, we say,,, (the sound of throat clearing again) “please join our Wood’s Membership or become a Wood’s Choice Partner of our WHOLESOME products and services and then see how we can fit all that into three little letters.”

It’s with the support of everyone as to how this endeavor is accomplished!!!

Oh,,, and yeah,,, which reminds us, CONSERVATION AND PRESERVATION is all a part of  those three little letters also, as 5% of everyone’s membership goes toward this, as pledged by Martin James Wood!
